If you are reading this, no doubt you are familiar with my Regency novel, Heartless. If you have not read it, I encourage you to do so. Indeed, what kind of author would I be if I didn't urge you to read my books? ;o)
Heartless tells the story of the Duke of Derringer, a man Society has dubbed Lord Heartless. He lives a life of his own choosing, caring little for Society or anyone's good opinion. Reckless, suicidal, cynical, abusive, and rude, Derringer finds little pleasure in life.
Enter Leandra Harcourt.
Leandra Merrily Harcourt, the illegitimate daughter of an earl, despised and abandoned by her family, meets Derringer for the first time at an inn. Summing him up during the one meal they share, she takes a chance and agrees to marry him.
Heartless is a "marriage of convenience" story with an ugly twist. Someone wants Derringer dead and Leandra, in marrying him, puts her life in danger. But that's not the ugly part. Oh no.
Derringer is the ugly part.
Derringer is the ugly part.
